First Housing Project for Coastguard to Rise in Cagayan

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) – The men and women of the Philippine Coastguard (PCG) will soon have their respective homes following the signing of a memorandum of understanding forged by the MV Vie Realty and Construction Services, the Pag-ibig Fund and the Philippine Coastguard Northeastern Luzon District for the construction of quality housing units.

MV Vie Chief Executive Officer Marvie Viernes said they are happy to build the future dream house of the coastguard personnel, a dream house that suits their taste and standard.

To be built on a four-hectare land in Enrile town, 554 lots are allotted for the housing project with a wider space for amusement, convenience and other recreational services.

MV Vie Vice President Twaheer Zafar said construction materials to be used are combinations of Philippine and western supplies which are of quality while housing designs are adaptable to Philippine weather conditions while its structures are climate-resilient.

Commador Vincent Bingbong Fiesta of PCG Northeatern Luzon District said they fully support and grateful for the establishment of housing project.

This will also open possibilities for other PCG members around the country to have home of their own.

MV Vie is also looking for the possibility to open unkts to other individuals but, for the menatime, the priority are the coastguard personnel.

Teddy Lorenzo representing Pag-Ibig Region 2 Chief Executive Officer Marilene Acosta said Pag-ibig is also grateful to be part of the project as this is in support to the program of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. of providing decent homes to every Filipinos who belong to informal settler families.

Early last year, Pag-Ibig together with the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Social Security System (SSS), Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP), and the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) were part of the MOU signing with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) which aims to help provide housing for over six million families nationwide, under the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Program of the President.
