CAMP CASTAÑEDA, SILANG, Cavite (PIA) – Senator Imee Marcos personally led on Monday, July 29 the ground-breaking and laying of time capsule for the proposed Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) parade ground named after former President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr.
The construction of President Ferdinand Edralin Marcos Sr. Field is dedicated and named to the former president who is considered and acknowledged as the ‘Father of PNPA’.
The grounds will be equipped with a 2-story grandstand with the size of 30M x 160M. The ground floor will serve as a holding and receiving area with a VIP room and conference rooms.
While the second floor will serve as the stage with a VIP room, an audio-visual room, an office, and bleachers which can accommodate approximately 1, 200 seats. On the other hand, the parade ground will also have a LED wall similar to those located in its old parade ground and an open field with a total area of 30,591 square meters.
Senator Marcos likewise witnessed the successful Incorporation Rites of the PNPA Sandirangan (SANDIgan ng Bayan paRA sa Lupang SinilaNGAN) Class of 2028 wherein the Senator is the guest of honor and speaker.
In her message to the 332 new cadets, the Senator unveiled her proposed Senate Bill 409 for the modernization of the Philippine National Police, as well as another bill that would provide free legal assistance to police, soldiers, BJMP personnel, and Coast Guard to face lawsuits or complaints in court
During the media interview, Senator Marcos pushes for the PNP modernization program because she wants to expand it, adding that “our enemies are not ordinary criminals anymore but it seems like corporations or gigantic syndicates that are very wide and cover the towns and the whole world as well.”
The incorporation rites is one of the significant activities of the Cadet Corps wherein it will exhibit the union of Plebes (Fourth Class Cadets) to their Upper-class Corps after surpassing the 45-day “Breaking Period” or New Cadet Orientation Course (NCOC). (RF/PIA-Cavite)
