The City Government of Imus and the Imus City Tourism, honor the legacy of resilience and dedication to public service of the Cavite’s first governor during the Third Republic.
The event was graced by Cavite Vice Governor Shernan S. Jaro as the Guest of Honor, paying tribute to Camerino’s enduring contributions to the province.
Born on November 1, 1899, in Kaytobong (now part of Dasmariñas), Governor Camerino rose from humble beginnings to lead Cavite through times of challenge and growth.
He faced setbacks, including imprisonment and political challenges, yet he returned to public service and served as acting governor from 1972 until his death in 1979. His leadership led to a 130% increase in tax revenues, expanded electric power to upland towns, and launched development projects that shaped Cavite’s progress. (Mula sa PGC)
