The Office of the Provincial Public Employment Service Manager of Cavite, in partnership with PhilHealth, successfully held an event titled “Empowering OFWs: Maximizing Health Benefits and Contributions” on November 6, 2024 at Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall, Trece Martires City. This program aimed at enhancing the knowledge and security of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) regarding their health benefits and contributions under PhilHealth.
The event opened with a warm welcome from Mr. Benjamin A. Rodil Jr., CSIO of PhilHealth LHIO – TMC, who highlighted the importance of strengthening OFWs’ understanding of their rights to health coverage.
OPPESM Head Ms. Rizalie Pinpin-Enero emphasized the OPPESM’s commitment to supporting OFWs in accessing the health and welfare benefits they deserve.
Attendees were then given an overview of Universal Health Care (UHC) by Edelyn V. Rodil, SIO II, LHIO – TMC, who discussed PhilHealth’s role in ensuring comprehensive health protection for all Filipinos, including those working abroad.
Ms. Rhona O. Remolona, Senior SIO and OIC-Member Section at PhilHealth Region IV-A, extended her gratitude to the attendees and reiterated PhilHealth’s dedication to addressing OFWs’ unique health needs.
The program concluded with an open forum, where OFWs voiced their concerns on various topics, including benefits, contributions, and pensions. PhilHealth representatives engaged with the audience to provide clear answers and guidance, ensuring that each participant left with a stronger understanding of their PhilHealth benefits.
