Cavite Provincial Jail Celebrates National Correctional Consciousness Week

The Cavite Provincial Jail commemorated National Correctional Consciousness Week on November 15, 2024, with the theme, “Ang Simbahan Katuwang ang VIPs, Kaagapay sa Pagbabagong Punong-puno ng Pag-asa.” The meaningful celebration highlighted the vital role of faith, community support, and hope in the lives of persons deprived of liberty (PDLs).

The program commenced with a solemn Holy Mass officiated by Bishop Reynaldo Evangelista, Bishop Emeritus Pedro D. Arigo, and Fr. Arman Tamajo, Priest Animator of the Diocesan Prison Ministry of Imus. Their spiritual message underscored the importance of repentance, forgiveness, and transformation, inspiring the attendees, including the PDLs and their families.

Adding vibrance to the event, PDLs showcased their talents through heartfelt song and dance presentations. The performances symbolized their resilience and aspirations for a brighter future, reflecting the theme’s emphasis on hope and renewal.

To foster harmony among the PDLs, friendly games were also included in the program.

The celebration served as a reminder of the collective responsibility to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of PDLs into society, with the Church and various stakeholders as steadfast partners in the journey.
