Inflation Rate recorded at 2.7 percent in CALABARZON for the month of November 2024      

[Lipa City, Batangas] – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) CALABARZON reported the November 2024 inflation in the region via hybrid press conference on 09 December 2024. Regional Director Charito C. Armonia announced that the prices of commodities in the region increased by 2.7 percent, which is higher than the 2.2 percent rise in prices observed in October.

Higher increase in prices for Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages commodity group compared to the previous month’s rate contributed to the acceleration in the overall inflation rate (IR). Increase in prices for Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages was recorded at 3.7 percent. Secondly, Restaurants and Accommodation Services contributed to the increase in overall IR, with recorded IR of 5.3 percent.

Likewise, higher increase in prices of commodities were recorded in all provinces of the region except for the province of Quezon and one highly urbanized city, that is City of Lucena. Rizal posted the highest inflation of 4.4 percent, from 3.3 percent inflation in October 2024. Laguna posted an IR of 2.8 percent, from 2.3 percent in October; Batangas at 2.6 percent, from 2.2 percent in October; and Cavite at 0.9 percent, from 0.5 percent in October. On the contrary, Quezon posted a lower IR of 3.6 percent, from 4.1 percent; and City of Lucena with IR of 3.0 percent, from 4.0 percent in October.
