Jail Personnel Express Love for Public Service, Community through “Love Affair with Nature”

LUCENA CITY, Quezon (PIA)– Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Quezon District Jail led by its warden, Jail Supt. Jack Lord B. Cariño conducted a Valentines’ Day 5-in-1 program activity dubbed ‘Love Affair With Nature’ at the coastal barangay of Barra, Lucena City on Tuesday, February 14.

Said activity was highlighted with the presence of BJMP Quezon Provincial Administrator, Jail Supt. Arvin T. Abastillas.

An estimated total of one – hundred (100) residents mostly coming from the IP Community benefited the outreach program which is in line with the Jail Bureau’s programs for community affairs and development toward affording the community with peace and progress.

Services offered during the community outreach are feeding program, read-a-book, health teaching, tree planting, clean up and info drive.

Jail personnel also prepared entertainment and ice breakers for participants.

In an interview with Jail Officer 1 Rizaldy M. Sobreviñas who resides in the said highly populated urban area, the joint outreach activity’s success was a clear manifestation and display of the ‘Serbisyong BJMP’ that is ‘Matatag, May-Integridad and Makatao.’

“Our intent is to give hope and make them feel that the government and other stakeholders are looking after them and committed to help build safer communities and progressive society,” Sobreviñas said.

The jail administration promised it would not be the last time that people of Barra would benefit from this kind of program of the BJMP as they intend to revisit the area to bring more services from the government. (RMO/PIA Quezon with reports JO-2 Joefrie Anglo-BJMP-Quezon)
